Newark Airport Express Bus
A scheduled coach to three Midtown corners — no transfer, no driving.
The Newark Airport Express is a scheduled Coach USA motorcoach that picks up outside arrivals at Terminals A, B and C and runs through the Lincoln Tunnel straight into Midtown — no AirTrain, no driving, no transfer. The catch is that it serves exactly three corners: the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 41st and 8th, Bryant Park at 42nd and 5th, and Grand Central at 41st between Park and Lexington. For anything on that Midtown spine it is a fraction of a car fare; for anything off it, you still need a last leg. (Note the unrelated DeCamp commuter lines folded in 2025 — this airport coach is a separate operation.)
In sequence
Buy a ticket and board the Airport Express coach outside arrivals at Terminal A, B or C — no AirTrain needed.
Ride up the New Jersey Turnpike and through the Lincoln Tunnel’s Weehawken portal into Midtown.
Get off at one of just three stops: the Port Authority Bus Terminal (41st & 8th), Bryant Park (42nd & 5th) or Grand Central (41st near Lexington).
Finish on the subway, by cab or on foot to your final block.
When it wins
Midtown-core and East Side destinations near Grand Central, solo travelers skipping the AirTrain, modest bags.
When it bites
Only three Midtown stops on the whole route — anything off the 41st/42nd Street spine still needs a last leg. Lincoln Tunnel traffic stretches the ride badly at peak, and late-night departures thin out, so confirm the schedule before relying on one.
The cost, unpacked
A single Coach USA fare (about $17 one-way, $30 round-trip) covers the whole run to any of the three Midtown stops — Port Authority, Bryant Park or Grand Central.
